12. How to plan your Journey

In the occasion of Horizons Opening, for the artists who would like to stay in the surroundings of the Villa and not in Florence, we warmly suggest two different solutions:

-TENUTA LA BORRIANA
www.agriturismolaborriana.it

New and warm Agriturism a few steps from Artimino, runned by Alessandro and Stefania, a young and helpful couple. Tenuta la Borriana is the ideal place to rest, for holidays, leisure and outdoor life. Placed on hills, it’s very close to both Florence and Prato.
Tenuta la Borriana is immersed in the marvellous Tuscany countryside, which, with its colours, panoramic view and unique landscape, is framed in its XV century stone building. The Borgo has six apartments and nine rooms, furnished with taste, elegance, comfort and modern furniture. In the old barn there is the restaurant, where is possible to taste the typical food and recipes of Tuscany, together with good wines.

-HOTEL PAGGERIA MEDICEA
www.artimino.it

The “Paggeria Medicea”, a 4 star hotel, constructed in the same period as was the villa, was, at one time, to separate the court's residence from that of the servants and pages. Nowadays it has 37 rooms, all with bathrooms and modern comforts, while respecting the original construction. The fireplaces have been maintained, as have been the historical stone wash-basins, the hanging wood-beamed roofing and terracotta flooring.

For all artists without their car who will stay at La Borriana Agriturism, ArtexArte have already provided to organize a small pullman with driver that will bring them, on friday 17, to visit the sourroundings, the next day it will take them to Villa La Ferdinanda for the Exhibition Opening (and of course it will provide to bring them back); sunday 19th will be dedicated to visit the city of Florence.
For all artists who will prefer staying in the beautiful city of Florence, a few kilometres from Artimino, ArtexArte, on saturday 18th, will ensure a travel in pullman from their hotels sited in Florence (and/or sourroundings) to the Villa La Ferdinanda and it will take them back to their hotel when the opening will be finished.

13. Instructions for Sending artworks

It's reccomended to not european artists to ship their works with two or three weeks in advance and to get in contact with Paola Trevisan before send the works in order to get some useful information and tips about it.
Do not use Air Cargos Companies but please use ONLY courier express (like FedEx, UPS, DHL) more reliable and easier for the clearance customs.
It will also possible for artists to come with their artworks on the 12 and 13 March ’06 to the Agriturismo La Borriana. It’s a curators duty to install, unless previous according with the Organizers.

Shipped works must be sent in a re-usable container, as this container will be used to return unsold works. Works must be securely packed, with identification tags attached to the back of the work and with the return shipping label enclosed.
